Add State Tax Compliance

Add State Tax Compliance

Our state compliance section is one of the critical areas in which we protect our customers from orders coming from states that you cannot ship to. You will only need to set up tax rates for the states that you hold licenses to physically do business in or you hold licenses to ship alcohol to.

Go to Fulfillment > Compliance

Click on the name of the State you would like to change and then hit Edit

Enter the sales tax rate for this state. Toggle on Onsite if you hold license to physically sell alcohol to this state. Toggle on Offsite Compliant if you hold a license to SHIP alcohol to that state. Once you have everything set, select save changes.

Do not put the percentage sign (%) in the TAX RATE field. The system already calculates this as a percent and adding that symbol will cause the system to error when you try to make sales using this state.

The system will have every state set to off so you only need to turn on the states in which you do business. No matter if your customers are pick up only or what integrations you use within Vincipia, you must set up this field for the states in which you sell alcohol.
