Through our partnership with MailChimp, Vincipia users have the option to send automatic branded, customized welcome emails for new club members whether they sign up through the club sign up page under VinSipp, are manually added or imported into Vincipia, or are imported through the Square Group connected to your club.
In order to do this, you must have a Transactional Email plan with MailChimp, which is an additional charge add-on. See more details in MailChimp under Automations > Transactional Email.
- In your MailChimp account, navigate to Automations > Transactional Email. Then hit Launch App at the top right. You will then be taken to the Mandrill App, which MailChimp utilizes for this functionality.
- Once in Mandrill, you will have to connect and verify your Domain to be able to send emails. Follow the steps under Settings > Domains > Sending Domains> DKIM/SPF Setup instructions. This will provide you with the details to modify your domains DNS records for authentication.
- Once you have a verified domain, go to Settings > SMTP & API Info and click the New API Key button, then Create API Key. Don’t select any of the options.
This will be the API Key that you will use in Vincipia to connect to our system, so copy it for later use.
- You can now create a welcome email template in MailChimp for your club. You can even create a different template for each club you offer, if you like.
- Go back to your MailChimp account
- Navigate to Campaigns > Email Templates.
- If you have an existing template you would like to use, skip to step d.
- Otherwise, click on the Create a Template button. Follow the directions to create template
- You can pull member information dynamically into your template by using MailChimp Merge Language.
- We currently support the following Tags:
- *|FNAME|* (First Name)
- *|LNAME|* (Last Name)
- *|CLUBNAME|* (Club Name)
- Select Save when completed
- In the dropdown menu on the Email Templates page, select Send to Mandrill.
- In Vincipia, visit the integrations page (Integrations > Mailchimp).
- If you don’t already have a live MailChimp integration in Vincipia, enter your MailChimp credentials by selecting edit > Connect and follow the prompts. Otherwise, skip to the next step.
- Select Edit and enter the API Key you have copied and select Save Changes.
- Go to the club you want to set the email for and select edit
- Fill in all the fields now available to be completed under the Mailchimp Settings section related to welcome email template settings.
- Name is the Template name you wish to connect to
- Email Subject is the subject line that will be created for each welcome email
- From Email must be one that ends with the verified domain that you set up in Mandrill.
- Click Save Changes
